HOW CAN I TURN OFF JUNK FILTERING ALTOGETHER?

I want to turn off Junk Mail filtering altogether. I NEVER EVER want any incoming email to be sent to Junk Mail. That should be MY CHOICE. Without the option to turn off junk mail filtering altogether, this is a useless crap piece of software. And Mozilla have the gall to keep asking me for a donation to support this rubbish. Well, Mozilla, you'll get a donation when you sort out this issue - not before. I'm not holding my breath waiting for this. You are unbelievably arrogant people.

Junk Controls are OFF by default. You must have modified this useless software you use for free. Do not use it then if it upsets you. Hardly a way to ask for help! https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-junk-spam-messages

1. Being "free" isn't the point. It either works or it doesn't, and in this regard it doesn't. And I won't continue to use it. Childish response.

2. I have this installed with all the defaults. I don't mess about with software. I would have EXPECTED this to be turned off by default - but it wasn't. End of story on that one.

3. Others have posted in this forum have had issues with Junk Mail. It needs a simple "on" or "off" button, clearly labelled as such. Not much to ask.

4. If this is so "free" then Mozilla should stop badgering users for donations. When I use software like this, software that works, I am in the habit of paying the donation request. But this doesn't. And since your attitude clearly represents Mozilla in this matter, I'll do as you suggest and go elsewhere for a solution. Money is not the issue for me. I only installed Mozilla on recommendation. It's been found wanting. End of story.

Tools|Account Settings|{select account}|Junk Settings→Enable adaptive junk mail controls for this account

Funnily enough, more users complain about junk/spam NOT being filtered than those, like you, who complain about unwanted filtering.

This setting cannot and will not affect any filtering being applied prior to your messages being downloaded into Thunderbird. You would need to take your argument about this to your mail provider.

It has a simple on and off if you get someone to read the linked article to you.

FYI: If Thunderbird junk Controls are off then your provider or antispam software is what is pissing you off.

Mozilla is not asking for donations. The volunteer group hat has continued the development of this software after Mozilla stopped is asking. Some people feel entitled though and will not change. They just use for free and bitch.

First off, the thing has NOT been adjusted or configured at all.

Second, the link you provided does NOT show an ability to turn junk filtering off altogether which is the requirement of this thread, the best it can do is offer this pathetic "enable adaptive junk mail" option, which does NOT turn off junk mail at all, it merely stops the junk mail filter from acting on messages received from senders ALREADY in your contacts. It will STILL arbitrarily choose to mark messages as junk if the sender isn't in your contacts list. So it is STILL applying a junk mail filter. Perhaps YOU ought to read the damn link. And more over, perhaps you should learn to understand what these settings actually do, "fan-boy." There is NO "on / off" control for junk mail in this piece of crap. And you are too much of a blinkered fan-boy to see this. The thing does put mail in the junk folders from the get-go. There isn't an option for it not to.

Oh, and I am NOT using this. I've moved to a professional product. One that actually works. And I'll bitch all I want to. You really are a broken-hearted bitter and twisted thin-skinned little fan-boy. Grow up.

I am pleased that you have found a software that pleases you. My guess is you have moved from an IMAP mail account with Thunderbird to a po account with your other software. but as long as you are happy it is irrelevant.

So I will close this thread as I really see no point in the discussion that is occurring here. It started poorly and has degenerated from there.
