The Windows file-dialog has crashed

For quite a while now, whenever I try to save a file or image, if I attempt to change the folder for the download I get the error message "The Windows file-dialog has crashed." I think several months ago, Firefox would crash, but now Firefox keeps running but I get that error message. If I want to upload a file the same thing happens, which is a little harder to work around -- I try to change to the folder with the desired file(s) and the file-dialog crashes. The same thing does not happen with other programs -- I recently used Chrome to upload some files when I couldn't with Firefox. I have tried several fixes I found online, including Troubleshoot Mode and Refresh Firefox, but to no avail. I sure would like to find a fix...

I am using Windows 11 and Firefox 135.0.1 (64-bit).
