Hello, I run a vertical four pane layout (accounts, inbox, message pane, events). Everything is working perfectly except my message pane seems to hide randomly. I think I have narrowed the problem to the message pane min-width cutoff.

If I reduce the size of the message pane it suddenly collapses into a vertical orange bar. I noticed I can reverse drag this vanishing orange bar to restore the message pane. However, I can only grab this orange bar if the "events pane" is hidden.

I know I can just hit a hotkey (which I have masked to a system global hotkey) or go to the menu view>layout>message pane, but after doing this about 50 times I was wondering if there is some setting to disable this behavior entirely. I suspect this behavior is due to the many negative feedback about the message pane I found in my searches, but I want to say that I really like and need the message pane.

In thunderbird/calendar, when I select import, and get the import tool and select a file to upload, I get a list of candidate events, all are initially selected.

There's a search field and two buttons on that row, select all, deselect all.

Depressing "deselect all" deselects only the last item. Adding a search in the search field doesn't change that.

I am using MX-Linux (mx-23). When I used to click on a link in an email, I was taken to Firefox where the link was opened in a tab for viewing. Now, I have to manually switch to Firefox using CTRL-F2 (F2 is location of the workspace where I have Firefox).

I am having problems setting up an email account in TB. I already have ONE gmail account setup and it's currently sending/receiving fine. However, when attempting to setup my 2nd acct, I'm getting: 400. That’s an error. The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know.

I can't for the life of me figure this out despite comparing both accounts' SERVER SETTINGS repeatedly.

When asked to re-enter the appropriate password I enter the never ending merry-go-round......I have 6 addresses. Whilst it is possible to access then via their specific accounts held with Microsoft this is time consuming,hence the preference of Thunderbirdb which up until now has been trouble free for approx 15 years. This unnecessary development makes me wonder why I only need a user naame aand password to access via Microsoft. I have tried every method kindly provided by other users to no avail. Can anyone provide the correct server setting for both IMAP and SMTP? As I have said these 'new' authentification/s are in my opinion tantamount to using a sledgehammer to crack a walnut. I hope my explantion makes sense? Surely I cannot be alone?

I have set up Syncing on Firefox and it was simple but I can't figure out how to do it in Thunderbird. I am recovering from a PC Reset and want to ensure I do not lose anything if I have to have my Iaptop sent away to be repaired.

I spent a long time looking for an email today. I sent it earlier in the day so was looking at the latest messages with todays date. I eventually found it after srearching for the Subject. The message was threaded but the message showing was from a few days ago. That was when I noticed the little arrow. That was when all was revealed. The version of TBird I used until I Reset PC last week did not have settings like that.

About 2 weeks ago, I stopped being able to 'send'. I have found two solutions. Which is less bad? (a) or (b)? I prefer to use the SSL/TLS option for security. But my choice is between (a) overriding the default port vs (b) using STARTTLS for out-mail (with SSL/TLS still for in-mail). a) SSL/TLS for both in and out-mail In-mail port 993 default Out-mail port 587 ... by overriding default 465

b) SSL/TLS for in-mail In-mail port 993 default STARTTLS for out-mail Out-mail port 587 default

When I open or edit an event from the calendar the new window is always too small. (Actually, the same is true of Cardbook contacts) Is there a way of setting the default size when things like events are opened in a new window?

i have nebula version. my wish is not to have this conversations layout : expand, not expand and others, without these little arrows,just nothing, just an 'old', traditional way. how can i disable this function ?

I use TB for my MSN account and Hotmail account. I recently made all the required setting changes and both accounts worked fine until 48 hours ago. Now MSN receives and sends email but Hotmail only receives. Please help.

I tried to export my calendar to Google Calendar. The .ics file results in errors on Google saying "0 of 0 records" were read. I've walked through all the info I've found and wonder if there's something else to try etc. I successfully get an .ics file etc.

Set email links to open in Firefox they open in Edge

Default print size in Thunderbird is very small and it’s tedious changing it every time I use it. I want a permanent fix.

When I write and send an email the message stays on screen and does not close when sent.

The address book is missing. I have a .csv file of the addresses but I don’t know how to upload them.

When I download a document it opens in FF but the download FILE DOES NOT DOWNLOAD TO THE DOWNLOAD FOLDER .

I have set up all my email accounts and am receiving new messages . That's about the only thing that is working. I lost all my passwords and it took some time to set them up again.

Please help!

On the tasks pane, when I deleted a task, I clicked don't ask me again and I don't know how to undo that. I'd like to have it ask me before deleting tasks.

I find old articles that tell people to go to settings>general>config but I can find no config on the general tab in settings. Then again those answers were from 4 years ago.

Any ideas how to make it ask if I'm sure if I want to delete again?
