About a month ago one of my email accounts on Thunderbird just stopped. Can't send messages nor receive ones. I always get the message " authentication failure while connecting to server imap.gmail.com". This is still the case right now. However I still get messages of same account on my mobile phone! What do I need to do to correct this situation and get that account active again on my desktop? Your help/advice is highly appreciated.

Set the authentication on the incoming and outgoing servers to OAuth2, and the User Name to the full email address, check that cookies are allowed in TB Options/Privacy, delete the passwords for the account in Options/Security/Passwords/Saved Passwords, then restart TB and enter the account password in the browser window when prompted. Make sure your TB version is at least 60.9 or 68.10.
