Received a pop-up saying Firefox not working. Tried to refresh but icon wouldn't go to home screen. It placed a folder on my desktop "Old Firefox Data". Restarted computer but still couldn't get in. Tried to do Sync, but asked me to sign in and when I clicked on that it tried to run my email but didn't show the "m" in ".com" [....@gmail.co ]. After several attempts I had to download Firefox again. It shows some of my icons on the default page, but not others.

How do I get back to the home page I had previously constructed?

We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.

  1. On the keyboard, press [Windows] The image "Windows key" does not exist. + [R]. This should bring up a Run window that contains a text field.
  2. In that text field, type %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
  3. From that explorer window, double-click on the Mozilla folder, then double-click on Firefox and then on Crash reports. Double-click on submitted.
  4. Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to View > Arrange Icons by > Modified to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
  5. Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
  6. Paste each ID with bp- into the reply window on the forums.

Thanks in advance!

Followed directions to Crash reports. Two folders, both created 1/12/22: "events" - which is an empty folder and "pending" which contains 6 files, the latest one [d33aba19-0335-4fc7-bc12-d5045fc51547.extra] dated 1/12/22 11:48a.m. and the first one [bfab8815-69c8-4cb2-9a40-0d2fa0bf287a.dmp] 11:42a.m. The other four files are two ".extra" and two ".dmp" files.

Other than the two folders, there are dozens of "InstallTime...." files and only one file "submit" [not "submitted"]. That file dated 1/12/22 11:43a.m. reads: [Wed Jan 12 11:42:29 2022] Crash report submitted successfully [Wed Jan 12 11:42:51 2022] Crash report submitted successfully [Wed Jan 12 11:43:35 2022] Crash report submitted successfully

I did bring up the latest file in the 'pending' folder [[d33aba19...... noted above] and it produced text that takes up over one full page in Word, even in an 8 point font [it starts out: {"AdapterDeviceID":"0x0416","AdapterDriverVersion":"10.18.10.3355","AdapterSubsysID":"08591025","AdapterVendorID":"0x8086","Add-ons":"doh-rollout%40mozilla.org:2.0.0,formautofill%40mozilla.org:1.0.1,pictureinpicture%40mozilla.org:1.0.0,proxy ......]

I don't know which of the above you are looking for, so I will wait for another reply on whether or not to do anything. NOTE: I did re-install Firefox and have reconstructed my home page to match what I'd had, with one less row. It's working ok now so I'm not sure there's a need to mess with it, but I still don't know what caused it. Nevertheless, I appreciate your reply and directions. Thank you.

In the address box, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP- in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 Submitted crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.

Please, Do not post a screenshot ! !

Thank you for your response, Fred, but as I said in the prior reply to Seburo, there is no "submitted" folder in my .../Mozilla/Firefox/Crash reports, only an "events" folder which is empty and the "pending" folder which contained the 6 files I referred to. I went to Mozilla for crashes, then Firefox desktop and added the bp- to one of the files in my pending folder: d33aba19-0335-4fc7-bc12-d5045fc51547.dmp [without the ".dmp"]. The search came up with no results.

I appreciate the help, but apparently the crashes never got submitted. Since I've downloaded Firefox again and set up my homepage as close to what I had, I seem to be ok. User id's and passwords are kept in a separate location so I'm apparently ok for now. Nice to know the forum is out there for help; thank you again.
