This is an annoying issue because I frequently have multiple windows opened on multiple monitors. If I close the window that has all the tabs and open a new instance of firefox, the pinned tabs disappear. Such an awfull design. The pinned tabs should replicate to all other opened windows and stay pinned until the user manually unpins them.

Pinned tabs are connected to a specific window, each window can have its own pinned tabs.

Use one of these to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox Title bar, especially if you have multiple windows or Private Browsing windows open to prevent losing tabs in unnoticed windows.

  • "3-bar" menu button -> Exit (Power button)
  • Windows: File -> Exit
  • Mac: Firefox -> Quit Firefox
  • Linux: File -> Quit

You can check "History -> Restore Previous Session" and "History -> Recently Closed Windows/Tabs".

So how do I keep pinned tabs for a certain window when I have multiple windows opened? Having to use the restore previous session method is inconvenient to have to do on startup every time and doesn't always work (sometimes its greyed out). There needs to be a better method to retain the memory of tabs or just make them pinned across all windows
