I wish to uninstall firefox 6 update and go back to my original version so that my AVG Security will work. How do I do this?
I habe Wimdows 7 and AVG as my security. The most recent Firefox download disable my security. So must I dump the update for Firefox. switch to IE or can you fix this?

The AVG Safe Search toolbar is disabled because AVG has not updated it to be compatible with Firefox 6. Your AVG protection is still working, just the toolbar is not.

Firefox has a similar built in function to protect you while browsing but it will not show an indicator on search results pages. If you try to load a page/site that is known by the Safe Browsing component in Firefox to be a malicious site, you will see a warning and have the option to (1) not load/proceed to the site, (2) get information about why the site is rated a dangerous, or (3) ignore the warning and proceed to the site anyway.

Thanks Safe Browser but it's not true. AVG has been completely shut off, not just the safe search feature. I have tried to update it , enable it or just plain turn it on without success. When I open the AVG user interface it says, "There are no active components". I can view the history of past scans but I can't scan. It was fine until I updated Firefox today.
The update to Firefox 6 only disables the toolbar. Firefox (any version) does not/should not affect the functioning of your firewall or anti-virus/anti-spyware application.
As you can see from the link that I posted to the AVG forum, it says:
- Please rest assured you are still protected by AVG even if you have already upgraded to Firefox 6.0. The AVG Active Surf Shield component is still checking all data and will prevent you from accessing malicious content even though search results verdict icons are not available temporarily.
I am not an AVG user. You need to contact AVG to find out what is going on with your AVG installation.
If AVG is able to help you find an answer to your specific situation, please post the solution back here so that other Firefox users with a similar problem can easily find a solution. Thanks.
