Except where noted, everything here applies to both Firefox 81 and the Firefox 78.3 ESR.

Bug fixes

  • On Windows, when loading a LNK file via a local file, the link was not redirected to the target. This was fixed in bug 1658563 for the ESR only. We are still working on a fix for rapid release.
  • When attempting to install the Firefox MSI via Intune, the execution context was defaulting to Per-User. This was fixed in bug 1656556 so that it defaults to Per-Machine which is consistent with how our full installer works.

Policies

  • The Preferences policy has been updated to support setting arbitrary preferences, as well as setting user and default preferences.

Special Notes

  • As of this release, users of Firefox 68 ESR will start to be automatically upgraded to the Firefox 78 ESR.
