How to create an account and sign in to Pocket

In order to use Pocket, you must create an account. You can sign up for Pocket with a Mozilla account, Google, or Apple. This article explains how to sign up for a Pocket account and sign in using each of these methods.

Pocket supports various options such as Mozilla accounts, Google, and Apple. By using any of these services to sign in, you can eliminate the need to remember multiple login credentials and get instant access to your saved articles, videos, and other content.

As a Mozilla product, Pocket is transitioning to an upated login system using a Mozilla account. This means if you have a Pocket account and a Mozilla account with the same email address, you'll be asked to sign in using your Mozilla account and password.   • If you already have a Mozilla account:

Click Use an existing Mozilla account on the Pocket’s sign-up page and enter the email and password associated with your Mozilla account.

  • If you're new to Mozilla accounts:

Visit Pocket’s sign-up page. Enter your email address in the email field and click Sign Up. You’ll be prompted to create a password for your new Mozilla account.

Sign up with Apple

If you have an Apple ID, you can sign up for Pocket with your existing Apple ID email address. On iOS, Android and Pocket for Web, click Continue with Apple and follow the instructions that appear to sign up using your Apple ID.

Sign up with Google

If you have a Google Account, you can use it to sign up for Pocket. Just select the Continue with Google button on Pocket’s website. If you have multiple Google Accounts, you may be asked which account you wish to use to sign up. Please pay attention to which Google Account you select - this will become the primary email address on your Pocket account.

Sign in with Mozilla accounts, Google, or Apple

You can use Mozilla accounts, Google, and Apple to sign in to your Pocket account. This streamlines the login process, improves security, and provides quick access to Pocket features.

  1. Go to the Pocket website or open the Pocket app on a mobile device (Android or iOS).
  2. On the login screen, click Continue With Firefox, Google, or Apple. You’ll be redirected to the website of that service to continue the login process.
  3. Enter the email address and password associated with the selected account.
  4. Follow the instructions provided for your chosen sign-in method to sign in to Pocket.

Sign in using a Pocket account

You can sign in to Pocket on the website or on a mobile device (Android or iOS) using the email address and password that you used when creating your Pocket account.

  1. Go to the Pocket website or open the Pocket app on your mobile device.
  2. On the login screen, enter your email address in the email field and click sign in.
  3. Enter your Pocket account password.
  4. Click the Sign In button to sign in to your account.
If you created a Pocket account and also have a Mozilla account with the same email address, we'll transition the accounts upon login for seamless logins, increased security, and consistency. This means you'll be asked to sign in using your Mozilla account and password. Your saves won't be affected and you’ll still be able to access them using your Mozilla account login.
