I use gmail with Thunderbird. I do not have a Trash folder with my gmail. ????? How do I get a trash folder that will collect my deleted emails.

Sometimes I wish to retrieve a deleted message. I can do this with my other email account but there is no trash folder on my gmail account.

I've seen this folder appear with other names in Gmail accounts, such as Bin and Deleted. And it may be grouped in the set of folders listed under Gmail within your account folders in Thunderbird.

If all else fails, you may find deleted messages inside the special All Mail folder. I'd normally advise against synchronising this folder as it repeats what you see in other folders. But please don't delete what you find inside All Mail, unless you really do want to remove it permanently.

The strangest thing happened. I had not had a chance to act on the reply to my question yet but oddly today a "trash" folder appeared listed in my folders. I opened it and it had deleted emails going back to February of this year. Is there a mozzilla thunderbird fairy out there somewhere? If there is--thanks!
