I have tried all the Firefox suggestions: disabled and re-enabled all my extensions; restarted Firefox many times; used Mozilla Firefox Safe Mode to reset controls, etc. Absolutely nothing has worked! My Yahoo Toolbar continues to sit in its usual area, but there are no apps, the Search bar does not function, and when I press the Refresh gear there is no response.

Any ideas? Thank you for your attention.

I found this answer on Yahoo!Answers:

  • Go under tools
  • Click on add ons
  • Highlight yahoo toolbar
  • Go to options and change the skin
  • Click on "I'm done"
  • The toolbar should open the way it's supposed to.

I then went back and selected "No skin" and the toolbar stayed on.

Hello, Xsyntriq!

Your advice worked. Very simple to do, very on-point, and very welcome!

I just hope that all the Yahoo! icons and its search box continue to stay functional.

Now why couldn't Yahoo! or AT&T issue a helpful hint that skin changes were suddenly required for the toolbar to be active?"

But thankfully you told me what Yahoo! did not!

In appreciation, again thank you. marlem388

Hello, Woodman928--

Your Yahoo! Toolbar definitely does have an option:

      1. Click the little green "wheel" icon on your Yahoo
         toolbar;
      2.  A short, small menu box drops down;
      3. choose to click on either the "Toolbar Preferences" entry
          or the "Change Toolbar Skin" entry.

...If you don't have the little green wheel icon, just paste http://help.yahoo.com//l/us/yahoo/toolbar/toolbar8/ in your browser, press ENTER, and you'll be taken to the place where you can set up your toolbar, upgrade it, or find Yahoo's help sites to tell you what to click next in order to get it.

That's about it. and you'll be all set! marlem388
