I applogize if this post is not in the correct area but I couldn't for the life of me find where I could post feature requests on the FF Android Forum. I've litterally tried every well known browser on the Android Market: Samsung Internet that's native to my Galaxy, Chrome, Dolphin and Firefox. Of all these browsers, Firefox has the best reflow algorithm and webpage readablity hands down. Website are rendered fully readable with next to no paning or zooming - out of the box. It's just genius and I congratulate you on that. That's why I'm using FF and not other really great browsers such as Dolphin that have been refining the UI of their Android browser before FF Android was even being developed. Be that as it may, on a functionality and features level Firefox leaves a lot to be desired. None of these weekness/missing functionalities are very difficult to remedy. That is why I'm writing you, in the hope that you'll eventually address them one day: - Bandwith management (where is it?): it's available in Samsung's Browser and Dolphin. I have 200mb of Bandwidth which I use to check emails, FB, simple web browsing (with no images and flash) and precached Map navigation (ie. search and directions only). To avoid, my browser using too much bandwith, I set it not to load images or flash. This is option not available in FF. In Dolphin you can select having images/flash load in Wifi but not in Data/4G (this way, you don't have to mess around with the settings when going from 4G to Wifi). - Bookmarks: Your bookmarks don't have folders and subfolders. They used to in FF Android but for some reason you've disabled this functionality. Why? Maybe for performance reasons? That's cool, I get it but I have a quad core / 2GB RAM phone and don't have to worry about performance issues. Maybe you can make it optional for those of us with powerful phones. It would also be nice to have the option to set bookmarks as the default window when you press the address bar as opposed to Top Sites (it would even be nice to have the option of disabling Top Sites). - Check out Dolphin's Side Bars: you swipe on the left of the screen and your Bookmarks (History or Top Sites + and back/forward button) come up in a Sidebar, you swipe on the right of screen and all your addons toggles come on. - Unlike FF for PC, we can't delete the search engines we don't want and it's hard to add new ones. - Check out the themes on Dolphin, the images integrate into the entire browser (not just the address bar but everywhere - while still being quite functional). it's highly esthetic. - General advice: page rendering aside - on a functionality level: Dolphin has the best and most polished UI of all the browsers. I would highly recomend you download and play with it for a couple of days.
