Firefox freezes and bust be closed and reopened every day

I use Firefox mainly for Youtube every day. Lately when I sit down at my Mac to view Youtube, Firefox is unresponsive. I have to close the app, and reload it this has only been happening for the past 4 or 5 weeks. I like Firefox for Youtube because it prevents ad which track me (i.e. all of them) without running afoul of Youtube's no-adblocker rule.

Could Youtube be causing the browser to die, or is it a new setting I haven't found that caused this? An explanation would be appreciated.
