Firefox upgrade fails everytime I open the browser

I have a new PC running Windows 7, I installed Firefox and used it without issue (it's been my favourite browser for years) then an update was released. I get the message to install the update everytime the browser starts, but then it downloads and fails. I'm asked to do it manually, which also fails.

Any Ideas?

Cheers

side note.... Maybe I need to post this from my work PC (which is the one experiencing the problem)

Please go to www.getfirefox.com, and download and install the new version. Thanks!

Thanks Tyler,

I believe I did try a fresh install a while back, I will try it again in the morning using the link you gave.

I'm wondering if AVAST might be blocking it somehow, I've always used Comodo, If the fresh install fails, I'll try disabling the Firewall and AntiVirus too.

Thanks for the support

Normally if AVAST is going to block something it will ask if that is ok or if you want to allow it. I would like you to check this page fist. If that does not work let us know. Hope that works so that you can get back to using Firefox. :)

Try this:

Try to run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).
