I'm playing AdVenture Capitalist a lot these days. Yesterday I did my business, went on Kong, clicked AdVenture Capitalist... and all of a sudden it says that Chrome://browser/content/browser.js:18790 is busy or stopped responding. And I couldn't click any of the buttons. I restarted in Safe Mode and this time I got the second error and couldn't click on the buttons this time, either. Any suggestions?

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file (bookmarks, history) in the Firefox profile folder.

If the Places Maintenance extension can't repair the places.sqlite database file then remove all places.sqlite file(s) in the Firefox profile folder to make Firefox rebuild the places.sqlite database file from the most recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.

If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.

  • Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

  • (32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
  • (64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.

If you keep having problems then create a new profile.

The word chrome has nothing to do with the separate Google Chrome web browser if that is what you thought. The browser we know as Firefox (was Phoenix and Firebird before) existed for six years before Chrome browser first released.
