Copies of sent messages keep failing, copies & folders Box checked correctly

When sending messages I frequently get an error "Append Fio close fail 54/31 ,error saving to sent folder".Keep getting"retry" after 4 or 5 times it will say unable to save,when I go to my sent folder my message shows sent??
