Hi vistamandan, the right-click > Open Link in New Tab should work in all versions of Firefox. I reviewed your earlier thread and you were experiencing this strange behavior:

When I right click the mouse and select "open in new tab" I get an attempt but nothing happens. The tab shows the page for a millisecond, then closes immediately. I tried clicking with the wheel on top of the mouse and the same thing happens.
We suggested reviewing add-ons but I think you might have skipped that step when you found that Firefox 52 ESR was working for you. When you're ready to try again:
Could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? In its Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.
If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox. (On Mac, hold down the option/alt key instead of the Shift key.)
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- (menu bar) Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
and OK the restart.
Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).
Any improvement?

I started in safe mode and it worked. I then started in regular mode WITHOUT disabling any add-ons and it worked. I have NO idea what changed. I hope it works after another restart of Windows. Thanks. Dan
Now I can't have Firefox switch to new tab when opened even though it is selected in OPTIONS.
Now Firefox is doing the same problem as before ?????????
Could you try disabling two out of these three extensions and see whether that helps:
- Adaware Ad Block
- Adblock Plus
- uBlock Origin
You might also try disabling Ghostery.
You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
- type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return
In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.
Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Try just one ad blocker at a time. Also, if there's anything you just do not remember installing or why, disable (or remove) that.
After making the change, reload the page with the links (Ctrl+r) before trying the links again.
Any improvement?
