I'm having problems with a website constantly asking me to accept cookie permissions. It happens on some other sites occasionally, but this particular site is one that I use each day.

When I visit the site I get the cookie permissions box. I click accept all cookies. No matter how many links I click I am presented with the box yet again. It doesn't happen with Chrome, Edge or Brave.

I've tried deleting all cookies, and manually deleting the 3 cookie files in explorer

Hi. I've just visted the following site and it's exactly the same. I select cookie and tracking options and click save but then virtually every page I visit brings up the same cookie prefference window making the site unusable - https://www.thegamecrafter.com/make/products

Does this happen to anyone else?

Thanks Nathan, I'm on 130.0 (64-bit), the main culprit is this site https://www.which.co.uk/ which no matter how many times I click accept cookies keeps bringing up the cookie preference box

Make sure that you do not remove the "Site settings".

  • clearing "Site settings" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exceptions for passwords and other website specific data

Detail like websites remembering you and log you in automatically is stored in cookies, so make sure you aren't clearing important cookies.

You can use these steps to make a website recognize and remember you.

  • create a cookie allow exception with the proper protocol (https:// or http://) to make a website remember you

You can check that you aren't clearing important cookies.

  • using "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" to clear cookies keeps cookies with an allow exception
    in 102+ version toggling this setting makes changes to the "Clear history when Firefox closes" settings and those settings prevail
  • using "Clear history when Firefox closes" in Firefox 102+ honors exceptions and keeps cookies with an allow exception, previous versions removed all cookies

Make sure to keep the "Site settings".

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Exceptions"
  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history":
    [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" -> Settings

Thank you for that. I've also tried adding the website URL to the Exceptions cookie and site data in manage exceptions which didn't fix it. I don't have anything set to delete cookies, and this only really happens on the one site - https://www.which.co.uk/

Can you check to see if it happens to you, which would confirm it's a Firefox clash with the site, or if it's only me then it's something at my end.

When I tested, I noticed that Firefox's Tracking Protection feature is blocking onetrust.com when Which? loads. One of OneTrust's products is a cookie consent manager, which could explain why I don't even see the message. Or maybe it's because I'm in the U.S. and the site doesn't think I need to consent? But either way, there might be a "third party cookie" problem if it's a OneTrust cookie that isn't getting set correctly.

Many thanks. I've sent your findings to Which? technical support. I'll report back if they fix it. I can only assume it's an issue at their end for now.
