Using Vista OS, how can I put a bookmarked site onto the desktop?
After going to a site using Firefox, bookmarking it in Firefox, I want to be able to access the site from a shortcut on the desktop. Right-clicking within the site does not offer the "create shortcut" option. I am asking about my son's PC, not this computer.

You can drag the favicon on the left end of the location bar onto the desktop to create a shortcut.
You can also use an extension.
Thanks for the prompt answer! Using a bookmarked site in Firefox, I tried dragging from the left end of the location bar, and it worked beautifully, except it put the shortcut on the desktop using IE as the browser. My son does have IE as his default browser, but I thought I might be able to put shortcuts on his desktop using Firefox. He wants to keep IE as his default browser, so I won't experiment with it anymore. Thanks again for your help.
If Firefox isn't the default browser then you need to modify a copy of the Firefox desktop shortcut and add a space and the URL to the Target line in the Properties of that shortcut via the right-click context menu.
See this example fr the Google website :
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" http://ww.google.com
Thank you for the suggestion. I'll try it as soon as I can.
You're welcome
