Links from other documents open Thunderbird, not Firefox, and resetting or switching Add-Ons hasn't helped.

Links from Word and Excel now open up Thunderbird, not Firefox. Links in Thunderbird email don't do anything at all. Previously when I couldn't get links to open in the browser, I could solve the problem by disabling add-ons. But this doesn't work now. I also reset Firefox as suggested, and that had no effect. Please help. Thanks.

Could you try making Firefox your default browser again, or maybe make Safari your default browser first, then Firefox again? Hopefully this will update your system-level settings so that OSX knows which application to use for links.

Start another web browser and have it select itself as the default. After you close it, open Firefox and do the same thing.

Also, Press the <Alt Key> to bring up the tool bar. Then Tools > Options > Advanced > General. Turn on Always Check Firefox Default Browser.

That didn't work for me. I'll try it again after working on Safari for awhile, and I'll try those other references in the first reply. Thanks!

Changing the default to Safari and then Firefox didn't work. I'll check those references to see if they have more things to try.
