Inbox started filling like a firehose - now TB won't re-launch
I was reading and replying to emails (TB for Mac 102.3.0) when the inbox started getting flooded with incoming emails. It was happening so fast I couldn't see what was going on, but it may have been filling with old emails I had already received and moved to other folders - not sure, but it kind of looked like that.
I hit Cmd-Q as quickly as I could - at which point more than 200 emails had come in.
TB quit - and then I tried to re-start it. Every time I try to re-start it opens briefly then immediately crashes.
This is urgent (and it's already late at night). I was working on a document for work that I need to complete and send out tonight, and I was reading last minute emails from the team about what to include.
I hope somebody can reply with a fix tonight - thanks in advance.
In the meantime, I need to remember how to use webmail...

Update. I opened webmail.
Right before the firehose turned on, there were about 30 or 40 emails in my inbox.
Then emails started flooding in, and I hit Cmd-Q as soon as I could.
I just checked webmail. There are about 600 emails in my inbox. It looks like it was being flooded with old emails I had either deleted or moved to other folder.
I still can't launch TB. I'm keeping this community forum page open and am watching it. (Does it update automatically when somebody replies?)
Update 2: In webmail I deleted about 500 of the 600 old emails that had appeared. Then I was able to re-launch TB. The 100 or so old emaisl I hadn't deleted from webmail were present, and I deleted them from TB.
But I'm still perplexed by what triggered this - when my inbox started filling like a firehose was spraying into it.
