What the hell did you do to YAHOO Toolbar? No customization? I guess it's time to switch to Chrome! This sucks!
Did we lose the option to customize the yahoo toolbar?

Hmm, where did the Toolbar go? It's no longer on the Add-ons site for some reason. And the old toolbar page on Yahoo's site has changed to a download of Firefox integrated with a different Yahoo add-on. Maybe this is related to the Verizon deal?
Does Yahoo offer a toolbar for Chrome that works better?
Mozilla does not make or maintain the Yahoo extensions made by Yahoo as Yahoo does. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/user/yahoo/
Yahoo appears to have a simplified version of their toolbar at https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/yahoo-toolbar-and-new-tab/ and their https://toolbar.yahoo.com/ link leads to a more simple page.
There has not been any Firefox updates since the 47.0.1 to affect any extensions and next update will be Firefox 48.0 tomorrow.
I found a download of the May 18th version and installed it. It has an orange "Coming Soon" button which leads to this page:

On August 1, 2016 we will simplify the Firefox Yahoo Toolbar and upgrade your browser to the New Tab by Yahoo extension experience. This extension provides a static version of Yahoo Toolbar and customizes your new tab page with Flickr photos and quick access to your top sites. Please note, you will no longer be able to modify your toolbar layout.
That day has come. That's all I know about what's going on.
If you want to try reinstalling that version, here's the link I used:
I don't know whether it will help, but you can turn off updating for the add-on on the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Find Yahoo toolbar on the right side and click the tiny More link under the title, then on that page, find the row for Automatic Updates and set it to Off.

Hi Hombart, I don't know whether anyone has tested that version with Firefox 48. Did you try it?
There's also a July 26th version on this page, in case the May 18th version doesn't work: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/yahoo-toolbar-and-new-tab/versions/
No, afraid if I do I won't be able to use the toolbar. Have you?

Sorry Hombart, That link you give does not work with Firefox 48. It was the link given in the post above by jscher2000
Everyone please note it is Yahoo themselves making the addon changes, it is their addon. They may change things again but it is up to them.
Also please note that your Yahoo addon may have listed your Yahoo bookmarks they should still be available, and you should be able to export the Yahoo BOOKMARKS and then import them in to Firefox as explained in the question thread:

Did you also follow the link from James to Yahoo's explanation about their bookmarks (https://downloads.yahoo.com/faqfirefoxtoolbar } :Where can I see my bookmarks on Yahoo?
Sign in to My Yahoo. Click on the "Add Content" button and add the "Bookmarks" module to your page to see your links.
How do I export my bookmarks to another browser?
You can export your bookmarks here. { USA link - https://us.data.toolbar.yahoo.com/v1/bm/tools?.intl=us)
How do I uninstall Firefox Yahoo Toolbar?
1. On the Firefox browser, click Tools | select Add-ons.
2. Click Remove, next to listing of Yahoo Toolbar.
3. Restart Firefox.I presume using the export bookmarks link will allow you to import the links in to Firefox itself See also

At the risk of offending all Yahoo users, I have no interest in using the Yahoo toolbar. But, in the interest of science, I installed the July 26th version on Firefox 48, immediately went to the Add-ons page to set it not to update itself, then restarted Firefox to activate the extension.
I logged into it and was able to view, add, and edit bookmarks (first screen shot). I then tried to edit the buttons, which is a finicky process that at one point reverted all the buttons on me, but eventually it seemed to stick (second screen shot). Since I haven't used this before, I don't know what I'm missing, but it works "that much" at least.
