How can I change how long the "no new messages" notification stays visible after TB starts up?

When I start TB it automatically checks for new messages. However, the notification at the lower left of the TB window closes very quickly, so quickly that I usually cannot see what it says. Telling TB to check for new mail then brings up the message again and it stays longer this time which suggests that how long it stays visible starts counting down while TB is initially loading.

I know how to lengthen the time that the new message information notification stays up but cannot find a similar control for keeping the "no new messages" notification visible.

Is there a way?

I am using TB 24.6.0 on Win7 Premium.

Thanks

From the Menu Bar select Tools-Options-Advanced-General-Config Editor

Promise to be careful.

Type alert into the search box.

Look for Alerts Total Open Time

Make that number bigger. I do not remember what the units are.

No menu bar showing? Press the alt key.

Thanks Airmail. I tried that and it only affected the notification about new messages received.

If I remember correctly, I changed it from 10 to 35 but that only meant that the messages received notification stayed open quite a while but the 'no new messages' notification still continued to disappear much too quickly.

You can adjust the status bar display time using the Status message cache option of mailtweak, as well as see all cached status bar messages.

Install this add-on before you install mailtweak.
