Thunderbird leaves many nsemail.eml files in temp folder
I'm running Thunderbird 68.7.0 (64-bit) on Windows 7 and I always have many files in the form of nsemail-XX.eml where XX is an ascending number. They are copies of messages that I have SENT. Why doesn't TB clean these up?

If you exit Thunderbird, do they get deleted ?
No, they don't get deleted when TB closes, nor when I restart the computer.
The temp folder is usually full of orphaned temp files from lots of applications, often the deletion fails because other system processes have the files locked when the delete command it issues, like anti virus programs scanning the EML files. THat is why windows has a cleanup tool for just that purpose.
Does it also happen if you start WINDOWS in safe mode?
