That isn't coming from firefox but whatever sites your own or resulting from malware or adware being installed on your browser. If your unable to find what is the cause for the popups you will have to take it to a computer shop to diagnosis the issue.

Hi sueastro, Firefox may display information about Firefox, other Mozilla products, privacy issues, and other web issues, along the bottom of the built-in home page/new tab page. You can turn that on/off using the Home panel of the Options page:

• Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
• Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
• Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
• Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it

In the left column, click Home

Then on the right side, scroll down to enable/disable different parts of the page. The "Snippets" are toward the bottom of the list.

One possible culprit would be an extension:

You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

• type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.

Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything suspicious or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove).

I ran a Malware Killer (from iolo.com) and found one suspicious things which I deleted and then updated and ran a Spybot scan and now I am not getting the popups anymore. There was nothing suspicious in my Options. Thanks.

I have been trying to post a screenshot of the popup I am getting but it won't copy to this post. How can I do that? It has the logo and says, "Rearrange your toolbox" and has a box you can click that says, Learn More. It comes up when I open a new tab. Is this a legitimate popup? If so, how can I get rid of it?

The phrase "Rearrange your toolbox" is not familiar. Was this at the top or the bottom?

Then on the right side, Firefox should indicate below "New tabs" whether an extension is in control. If not, usually you can manage the content on the page by using the various checkboxes below that.

I changed the New Tabs from firefox to blank page and then I don't get that popup.

I am receiving two specific sites:

    glaub
    freeshipping

My understanding was that if there was the circled "i" in the address bar, it was affiliated with firefox. It upsets me to no end knowing that firefox was behind this absolutely annoying popup and has made me lose faith in them. Whenever, and I can not stress enough that, WHENEVER, I change to a new computer or update my computer, the absolute very first thing I do is install firefox. I am sure there are more sites affiliated with firefox that are just as annoying as these two and, whatever settings are on my computer, I should not have to go through hell and half of Georgia to make them stop. I have been a faithful user to you and have ALWAYS recommended firefox above all others. What is being done to your users is completely uncalled for and should be rectified immediately. I will not take up any more of your time, maybe to give you pause on how to undo what your have done...plus, another unwelcome visitor is knocking on a new tab that requires my attention - once again and again.....
