Thunderbird HOSED my PROFILE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! Automatic "upgrade" when I DID NOT ASK FOR IT!
Here we go again, I CANNOT access any of my emails, accounts or calendars.
When I booted my computer Thunderbird automatically "upgraded" my profile (files) but NOT the program and now Thunderbird can't open it.
I'm getting a stupid and uninformative "a newer version of Thunderbird may have made changes to your profile which are no longer compatible with this older version. Use this profile only with that newer version." WHAT VERSION!!!!! WHY WON'T IT TELL ME WHAT VERSION IT THINKS THE DATA HAS BEEN CHANGED TO?????
Because of what was done to me last time (it took me DAYS to re-enter my account information and I never did get my calendar restored!), I was running release 68.3.0 and saying NO to upgrade -- DIDN'T NEED the "upgrade" DIDN'T WANT IT.
I suppose a path of "least resistance" that would get my email working again would be to figure out what version my data is sitting at NOW and then download and install THAT release of Thunderbird.
Anyone know how I can do that?
Or WHAT I CAN DO ABOUT RESTORING MY (&^*( DATA!
THIS IS MADDENING! WHY WHY WHY DOES THIS SOFTWARE DO THIS SORT OF CRAP!!!!!!!!??????? This is the THIRD TIME I've been hosed in the last 2 years!!!!

OK, thank you.
In a final desperate attempt, I made all of my profile files disappear, installed 102, then used the import tool and it worked. Cool.
Now to find my calendar.
THIS solved my problem.

Out of DESPERATION I tried "upgrading" to rev 102.6.1 (latest release) and now I'm getting:
"Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible"
I click on OK and then NOTHING!!! NO THUNDERBIRD - NOTHING...
The profile in Appdata is the same, pointing at my old profile that won't work in rel 68 any more and now I can't get to T'bird at all to see WTF it thinks it's pointing at.
I'm beginning to REALLY hate this software!!!
Tell the programmers that if they're going to continue releasing buggy software the least they could do is build us a tool so we can FIND OUT WHICH VERSION THUNDERBIRD THINKS OUR PROFILE IS IN so we can download the release that will work with it...
And for extra credit, a tool to import ANY version to ANY version so we can quickly get through this sort of thing.
For now my 14 email accounts, dozens of folders with filters and entire calendar is HOSED and I've wasted two hours so far today trying to fix this!
WTF!
I've about had it with this. If I have to start all over again and setup my accounts, filters, calendar (what I can remember) I think I'll try some other email Client. Anyone have any good suggestions?

Alas, my Calendar was hosed and every entry is GONE! Crap.
Same problem - but the import doesn't work.
Any other ideas how to extract old eMails from the old Profile eg simply opening the ...\.thunderbird\myname\localfolders\ archiv mailbox in linux?
I've only 3 mail accounts to reconfigure - searching passwords in real paper archive ;) is a little bit time consuming, but who cares.
