I have just downloaded firefox on my mac. I dragged it into apps and then onto desktop. Opening it up it asked if I wanted to import bookmarks from safari, checked box yes. But it hasn't done so and checking help was told to use file - import on firefox but the file does not have the import shown in diagram above How do I get my 100's of bookmarks over please?

This may help you.

Exporting bookmarks from Safari

Go to File->Export Bookmarks. Safari saves your bookmarks in an HTML file. Save the HTML file to the Desktop or any other location of your choice.

Importing bookmarks to Firefox

Go to Bookmarks->Show all bookmarks. This will open up the Bookmarks Library.

Click Import and Backup...

Select Import Bookmarks from HTML.. from drop down menu.

Locate your HTML file exported from Safari.

You can use Safari Bookmark Exporter to export bookmarks to a simple HTML file, if exporting to an HTML file is not supported by Safari.
