My MacBook version of Thunderbird just has a spinning beach ball continuously. The CPU is 105% and is using 1.6GB of memory - I cannot shut any of the windows inside of the application. I have restarted my Mac twice and it is still the same. Any clues please?

Does the same issue happen when you start TB in "troubleshoot mode"? Hold the Alt (Option) key and launch TB. Do you have very big Inbox folders? Do you use the "Mac OS-X Address Book" ?
