I am using Thunderbird version 128.7.Oesr on an iMac running Sequoia 15.3. When trying to update a contact's information I'm finding some contacts allow for Edit Mode and other contacts do not even display the Edit button as an option. I've tried Troubleshooting mode, but have the same issue. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks, Ron

I suddenly cannot receive new messages, for the last 5 days I didn't change anything (in fact was out of town) but now I get an Error that says "Login to account ________ failed. Login to server mail.nctvocom with username ________ failed."

I have Xfinity as email provider. After a factory restore, I reinstalled Thunderbird without email address. Used your installation instructions for automatic set-up but process is stalled on checking password. Screen from Xfinity came up for user account and password, then goes to screen saying access denied. There is no error .in my entries. I can go to Xfinity and log into my email. The box it checked for allowing third party access.

About 2 weeks ago, all links attached to images in my emails stopped working. Clicking the images only opens the images in my photo app. If I use a different email client, they work correctly. Quite a few of the 3D content sites I get emails from only have images. You click the image and go to the product page. This is no longer working in your program. What has happened to my links and what can be done to fix this?

I'm using the latest version of Thunderbird on my MacBook Pro laptop computer. When I compose a new email, I can no longer Select All the email addresses from Contacts.

I was able to Select all the email addresses from the selected address book and then either click To or Bcc. The selected addresses would then go in the To or Bcc fields. It does not do this.

Any suggestions? Thank you.

I can send a single email to the several hundred email addresses in one of my Google Workspace labels with no problem using the online Gmail web interface. But when I try to send an identical email to the identical label members through the Google Workspace account in Thunderbird 128, it says there are too many recipients in the To: line. Is this limitation being imposed by Thunderbird itself or is it imposed by Google on messages sent from Thunderbird? Google Workspace chat AI bot says it's likely Thunderbird, but is it?

I am trying to send a message with lots of MIME attachments from Thunderbird and I get this error message: "Number of MIME parts exceeds maximum permitted". Unhelpfully it does not say what the maximum is and I cannot find this information in Support. Anyone know what the maximum number of MIME attachments to an email is? Thanks in advance

I am using kubuntu 24.04 thunderbird 135.0 And i heard i can now add EWS account to TB I am using on premises exchange server TB founds my account but offen only OWL addon exchange But i can press "manual" and there i see Protocol is Exchange. I press "configure manually" or "advanced config" but both ignores me... How to add EWS mailbox ?

I am using Thunderbird on a Huawei P30 Android with EMUI 12.

Emails sent from my mobile are not being copied to the "Sent" folder, neither on the smartphone nor on the server. As a result, I cannot find them on my phone or on my PC running Linux Ubuntu 24.04.

Did I forget to configure something in the app on my smartphone?

Hello, I'm using Thunderbird (128.7.0esr (64-bit) on Linux (Ubuntu 22.04) for many years now and this is first real problem I encountered. Veeam is a backup solution which is writing emails where the first headers are written in UTF-8 and the body in UTF-16. The attachment is written in UTF-8. The body is a summary written in UTF-16 When I open the mail the body is shown in Chinese characters. The attachment is normal and readable. Outlook has no problems reading this email and though it is possible to change Veeam to write everything in UTF-8 the system admin who is using outlook refuses to change it. Is this a known problem or do I have set some settings wrong ?

An old email with a similar subject line is always first in the list.

Maybe the time zone is incorrect according to RFC2822? But this is not a reason to make the letter top and a potential way to abuse attention.

I am learning how to develop add-ons for Thunderbird. In working through the [**"Hello World" Extension Tutorial**](https://developer.thunderbird.net/add-ons/hello-world-add-on), I decided to try calling the function `messenger.notifications.getPermissionLevel()` function described in the [MailExtensions notifications API documentation](https://webextension-api.thunderbird.net/en/128-esr-mv2/notifications.html).

When I use code like: ``` let allowed = await messenger.notifications.getPermissionLevel(); ``` I see the following error message on the Developer Tools console: ``` Uncaught (in promise) TypeError: messenger.notifications.getPermissionLevel is not a function ```

Meanwhile, over at GitHub, I see [thunderbird/webext-schemas/schema-files/notifications.json#L228-L247](https://github.com/thunderbird/webext-schemas/blob/d0c42f0f1e82244095f002387a2a4d253ab679fb/schema-files/notifications.json#L228-L247), which includes the field, `"unsupported": true`. It also lacks a field `mdn_url`, and there is no entry for it in the [Mozilla browser extensions docs](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/API/notifications).

So, is messenger.notifications.getPermissionLevel() supported in Thunderbird 128esr? And, where is that answer documented?

It appears you need to copy and paste the desktop email signature from an email to use on the Thunderbird mobile app rather than the html version in the settings. I have copied and pasted my email signature from an email and tried using the Samsung flow app to copy it to clipboard. Both ways don't bring across images or coloured text and I can't see where to add/ edit either. Is there a way to add images or colour the text on the android mobile version of the Thunderbird email signature?
