I installed Firefox4 on my Windows computer and some of my add-ons did not work. I also found some things slower (this is an old computer).

I would like to try Firefox5 on my Mac, but do not want to overwrite 3.6 until I am satisfied it is working satisfactorally.

You need to install Firefox 5 in a separate location if you want to keep the older version.
You also need to create a separate Firefox Profile Folder for Firefox 5
