Can't delete sync data, even with new acct because it will merge data.
Trying to delete my sync data because it is full of dupps and omissions. Deleted my sync acct. created a new diff acct. when I try to use it I'm told it will merge with my old acct data because it is the same PC. I have wasted 2 days trying to do a simple sync of my PC with my Galaxy s4. Countless attempts but always corrupted(missing & duplicate) at both ends. Using XP FF 34.0.5 & FF for Galaxy s4. At my wits end. Please either turn sync off or get it to work!

Bruce, unfortunately there currently is not a feature to decide which device is a master device, they all merge by default.

Hi bfenster, Please try these steps to delete the data on the account:
- Unattach the account from all the devices.
- On another computer, go to accounts.firefox.com and login
- Once logged in, select "Delete account" (this can also be done from the sync menu in options or from the Firefox menu)
- Make a back up of your profile before making changes: Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles
- For the duplicates run https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire.../?src=search or Places Maintenance
- Create a new account after 30 minutes at least just to be sure
- Sync accounts, put bookmarks in Bookmark Toolbar Folder on the desktop.
I hope this helps and I understand the frustration.
Thanks guigs2, I will give it a try. FYI: All I really would like is to sync in one direction from my PC to my Android phone and only when I request it.
Thanks again, Bruce

Thanks for the Info. I probably won't be using sync because it isn't right for what I want to accomplish.
Your input has been very helpful. I consider this inquiry solved. Thanks again, Bruce
