dear Manager Mozilla Firefox, i have downloaded this Firefox 5 version today, and the Real Player Browser Record Plugin 14.0.3 is disabled by firefox as not compatible, then i approached the real.com and downloaded the latest software,

i have downloaded this Firefox 5 version today, and the Real Player Browser Record Plugin 14.0.3 is disabled by the new Firefox borwser 5.0, as not compatible, then i approached the real.com and downloaded the latest software, but again same state of problem, please resolve the problem, because it is only source for downloading videos from youtube/Facebook website and others etc as i know, please help so many like me would have to switch to other browsers unfortunately.

Yeah, I relied on Real Player Download too, when using IE8. I've only recently switched to FF(4), but I did manage to find a good FF add-on for downloading Youtube videos - it's called "Online Video Converter". When watching a video at Youtube dot com (and only there, apparently), the add-on will display a "Download As" button inside your address window, which will let you download the video in either FLV or MP4 format (or convert it to mp3 - nice), and in various resolutions.

There are other similar ones out there - you just have to do an add-on search and read the reviews.

Oh, and while the above add-on won't show the "Download As" button when on non-Youtube pages (ones with merely "embedded" Youtube videos), there's usually a "Youtube" button within the embedded player itself which will take you to the video's actual Youtube page, where you then WILL see the download button.

But you're right - Real Player had the best setup - download from anywhere, all types of videos, etc... But, for what it's worth, I did see a little blurb on the Online Video Converter info page that says "More supported websites will come in the future". That'd be nice.

ok... i was the same problem... if you want to download videos for every site use jdownloader software is very good a you see if available before download... is amazing... try...
