AOL generated app for Thunderbird
I followed instructions posted on a TB fourm on how to generate an app password in order for my TB to work with AOL. I'm receiving mail in Thunderbird but can't send. I suspect that I may not have followed the instructions completely and would like to start over. Do I need to delete the AOL generated password on AOL and create a new one or just create a new one for the outgoing server? Would appreciate any help! JD

you have separate passwords in Thunderbird for incoming and outgoing. Have you actually updated the outgoing with the app password or or only the incoming with the app password so it is it still trying with your old password when sending..

Thanks for your response. That's the problem. Unfortunately I didn't write the generated password down because when in saw incoming mail I thought all was ok. Do I create another password just for the outgoing server or does TB require the same password for both? If the same for both, do I revoke the first one and start over fresh?
how about just going into the saved passwords in preferences and looking it up.
I can't find the instructions to create an aol app password! I just want my fricken mail!
