Chosen solution

Please try uninstalling Microsoft Silverlight see Using the Silverlight plugin with Firefox

Restart your browser and then reinstall Microsoft Silverlight using this page: http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx

Restart your browser again and install Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant 1.3.1 Follow the prompts from Firefox once the add-in has begun installation.

Finally clear the Firefox cache once more see How to clear the Firefox cache for directions on how to do this.

You may also need to update your flash player/add-ons to work with Firefox.

Ok, goto the following link and try updating Microsoft Silverlight http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/

Once that's done, restart Firefox and let me know if that helped.

Also the Sky website has a "service status" area under help and support, I have noticed they are experiencing difficulty with their broadband services in certain areas, can you please check and make sure you are not in that area?
