SInce Compact Folder has come in, I've found that some emails after I've clicked on Compact now, have been corrupted.

An example being clicking on an email from a particular person. When it opens it's from someone else and different content. Some are just gobbldey gook.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Is there a fix or a work around?

Email is not loading in, when I've had the same email for years, being imported from another email host. What is the SMTP server name that should be used in my settings?

I sent myself a v card from Blue Mail on my cell phone of a friend with whom I need to share some information. I can't do anything with the v card except get its text do display. I created a new folder called "Neighbors" but can't create a subfolder for him. Things are just messed up.

I have been using Thunderbird on my laptop with Windows 10, for a few years now without any problem. I have 3 accounts (IMAP) configured viz. 1 from Yahoo & 2 from Gmail.

A few days back I noticed that Thunderbird is not downloading all new mails on the laptop. Some mails can be seen in web interface but not in Thunderbird on laptop.

I tried all solutions like repair etc. but issue is still not resolved. Can someone help with the solution?

So for a couple of days now, I dont know what happened, but I stopped getting the popup notifications of new emails from Thunderbird itself.

I didn't change any settings what so ever nor have I touched my Windows notifications settings as they've always worked before.

As you can see, per attachment, my notifications settings in Thunderbird are correctly set up. However I do not see where to enable the popups anywhere.

I had them working before flawlessly and now, for 2 days now, they dont work what so ever.

Care to give this user a hand? Maybe two?

I have Windows11 (updated) and Thunderbird 128.2.3esr In TB I have two mail account 'gmail' and 'xxx' where 'xxx' is my company's mail account. Reading 'gmail works OK but all mails in 'xxx' display nonsens. They look like this:

What has happened recently to the Thunderbird calendar? It has become so unreliable. I get some notifications but not others. This has been happening for a while but it's worse now. It started off with notifications for repeated events not working. Now it's happening with new events, too. But it only happens with some, not all. This comes after the search facility for past events was inexplicably withdrawn. I've read other posts on that, but the focus of this question is the unreliability of notifications. Version 128.2.3esr (32-bit).

I have version 115.15.0 TB. All works fine except : I tried to delete 805 old messages from Inbox. I received an error saying I needed to under the File menu Empty Trash. I did that by clicking Empty Trash. It said to then Compact Folders. I did that. Then I tried to delete all old emails beginning 7/31/2024 and going back. I still got the same error. So, I deleted them in small batches. So, everything from 7/31 backward is now deleted. But it should have been one simple task. I don't know why this happened.

I have used Thunderbird for years on an iMac (O.S Monterey 12.7.6) until now when it will not open. I have tried to download and re-set anew and while Thunderbird identifies the in and out servers I always receive the message "UNABLE TO LOG IN AT SERVER PROBABLY WRONG CONFIGURATION,USER NAME, OR PASSWORD'". My full name and email address are correct so I have tried every password I have ever used, without success. iCloud email works ok but I prefer the Thunderbird display. Please help as I do want to keep using Thunderbird which is a really good app. Thank you.

Since the update on Sept. 21, 2024 I can't receive my email. I get a popup that says "login failed. enter new password." I enter the only password I have for this and get the same popup. HELP!!!!

After a recent update, Thunderbird has become unresponsive. The Inbox and folder tree appear when I open the program, and everything freezes. I cannot open any emails or navigate to another folder or email account within the program. New emails appear in the inbox but will not open. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program but with the same problem.

The last two days no longer able to select which profile to use when bringing up Thunderbird. Have had two profiles for years for for each of us. Now, it always comes up in my profile when bringing up Thunderbird. How do I get Thunderbird to allow me to select other profile like we have always done in past. Running latest version, 128.2.3esr (32 bit).

I suffered a computer crash and in the process of recovery made some mistakes.

I would like to recover old messages and the calendar. Unfortunately, there are multiple profiles and (I didn't create them) I'm not sure which one to use.

I am uploading various images of the profile folders. If additional info is needed, I am willing to upload.

Ultimately, I want to combine the older messages with more recent msgs.

Thunderbird's most recent update does not allow me to open many emails. For example an email from my bank saying an e-transfer has been completed. When I try and open the email I get just one line that says:

When I try and open an email from an arts group I belong to I get the same thing. However if I open the same email from my host server for my website, opens just fine. WHAT HAS HAPPENED???

Lost my Thunderbird email application on my computer. No address book, emails, folders etc. Downloaded Thunderbird and started over. The new version is very different from previous version. Can I get the previous version back? Really don't like this version format.

I was automatically updated to 128.2.3esr (64-bit) and immediately I have lost the ability to create new subfolders in any part of my folder tree or on any of the accounts I use. Rt-click -> New Subfolder has always opened a little dialog box to name the new folder. Now nothing happens. I have seen a similar user issue reported, but the answer was long and incomprehensible and seemed purely to relate to spam boxes and certain user account types . The issue is still not marked as resolved and is a real pain. Is there a simple way to roll back to the last version while you figure it out?

I have been having intermittent problems with my Touchpad over the past two weeks and no changes to the drivers worked. I then carried out a Reset, retaining all my stuff. Something went wrong and although it retained all my docs, photos etc, it lost the profiles and all my saved passwords in Firefox & Chrome. It's a catastrophe. I have backed up my own files every few months but not things like profiles. I have to start again with everything, including Thunderbird.

I set up TB yesterdayand have all my 8 email accounts linked to it and messages are being received ok. First problem is I can't remember which of my main 3 email accounts I used as the main account. Is it the first account. If not, is there a way of finding it in the Settings?

The second problem, when I wanted to reoly to a message I posted yesterday I couldn't pass the password challenge. I thought I could simply change the password but it seems that could lead to losing some emails.

In trying to sign in I was sent numerous codes, many of them did not work eventhough I copied then direct from the message. With an email address only, how can I access this Commun ity as I still have a question about the size on the TB 'dashboard. I wabt tio make almost everything bigger.

All was fine with gmail with 128.2.2 for me until this morning. I updated to 128.2.3 and login to gmail imap fails. Backed off to 128.2.2, everything works. Something is wrong with 128.2.3.

I already tried putting Thunderbird as a shortcut into the C:\Users\<myAccountName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo (aka. shell:SendTo) folder. But when I use the "Sent to" menu and select Thunderbird, the file to be attached just gets openned by Windows as if I had double-clicked on it. Thunderbird does not even open a new message.

I also tried changing the call of the Thunderbird shortcut in the SendTo folder to: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" -compose attachment= At least, then Thunderbird opens a new message. But it just writes the path\filename of the file to attach into the attachment section. When I then try to send the message, Thunderbird says it cannot access it under this path.

Since recently, TB has started showing subfolders twice:

   1. Normally under the main folder
   2. As grey and italic folders under Inbox in the format Mainfolder_subfolder.

Those grey folders do not have a subscribe/unsubscribe checkbox so I cannot unsubscribe from them. Does anyone have this problem and know how to hide those grey folders?
