I appreciate the "Translate Selection To" in the right click context menu is in Beta. For me it works but not as well as it might. For example, I am English, my laptop is set to English, I am viewing a website in English but it has some foreign text on it, so I hightlight the text, right click and I am offered to "Translate Selection To ... Slovenian" Why???

I then have to tell it the language of the source/highlighted text and I have to tell it I want the result in English. I can accept it might not recognise the language of the source text but it is very annoying that it assumes I want it converted to Slovenian instead of the systems default language.

To make it worse, having changed the languages to those I want, it doesn't remember them and the next time I use it I'm back to square one.

This would be a really useful feature if only it was logical.

after an update i couldn't ignore the now deadcentered firefox logo and wordmark and i can't stop being bothered by its sudden appierance. I looked into the settings and dissabled the EXCACT setting for this problem in the "about:config" going for the one with "wordmark" in the setting but its done nothing.

All the information that normally appears when one clicks on the name of an account in account settings (account name, your name, e-mail address, outgoing server to use, signature, et cet.) has disappeared on all three of my accounts. When I re-enter the information, Thunderbird does not save it.

It happens in troubleshooting mode too.

Thunderbird does still know the account names, my name, my e-mail addresses, and my signatures even though that information does not appear on the page.

How can I make Thunderbird show this information again and make sure that it's using the right outgoing servers?

mein alter Rechner ist "gestorben", weshalb ich einen neuen brauchte. Vom alten Rechner hatte ich die drei Postfächer, mit denen ich "arbeite" gesichert und nun versucht, diese in der neuen thunderbird-Installation auf dem neuen Rechner einzuhängen, schrittweise, so wie in den FAQs zum Thema Import beschrieben.

Aber: Die alten Postfächer/Inhalte werden nicht angezeigt. Sie sind aber im Zielverzeichnis ".thunderbird" zu sehen und an der richtigen Stelle.

Ich bitte um Hilfestellung zur Problemlösung.

I wasn't quite sure what topic to put my question in, but I have the following problem: I recently went into my browser settings and saw this(I attached screenshot). what does this mean? my browser shouldn't be managed by any organization, because it's my personal computer... I thought it might be because of the vpn, but I already uninstalled vpn, but that didn't help.

I do genealogy research and wonder why firefox won't work as Chrome? I'm trying to copy 1850 census record to Excel spreadsheet for research purposes. Seems this can only be done in Chrome. Firefox can you do this as well? I've not been able to do it. PS not really fond of Chrome but have to use it.  Any suggestions?  Thank you, Linda

New to TB...

I know this setting pertains to auto-deleting messages, but is there a similar setting for manual deletions?

Let's say I highlight all old messages dated in 2023--450 messages for example--then I press the Delete key....if there are any starred messages in that group I'd like for them to either not be deleted or to get an additional warning like "Messages for deletion includes starred messages...delete anyway? Yes/No"

I'm guessing there's no such warning, but thought I'd ask....thanks.

Thunderbird puts a LOT of my mail into Junk/Spam boxes and I am missing some important stuff. Rather than go hunting for stuff I missed in other mailboxes, I'd rather deal with them as they come in. I've checked online and turned off everything I can find to prevent the Junk filters from working, but stuff is still showing up in Junk/Spam filters. What do I need to do to turn it ALL OFF? A msg box comes up that says go to setting to enable the ability to highligh pdf's. I went to settings and did not find. this box comes in the upper right hand corner. I am usually working in PAGES. jhelp if you can. Thank you.

When I delete a email it goes to the "Deleted" folder, I realize that if I don't empty this folder often it gets very large.

Is any way to tell Thunderbird to automatically flush or empty or delete or gets rid of all the content on the "Deleted" folder so I don't have to double delete all my emails.

I am trying to enable Firefox, on Android, to draw over other apps, so I am able to look things up, while I have a other app open. However, it won't allow me to do this via my phone's settings and when I found instructions for how to enable this, within the app, I can't find the option to enable it.

How can I do this? If not, why isn't the option available? I'm trying to detach from Google, as much as possible.

Hello forum, Thunderbird 128 64 bit, win11 Pop and Imap. Every time you open TB, a window opens:

TB Email needs access to your Google account. This gives Mozilla Thunderbird Email the following permissions: More information Access, edit, share and permanently delete all calendars available via Google Calendar Click here for more information.

Reject Allow

This despite the fact that all calendars in TB have been deleted, there is no Google account in TB and TB does not exist as a third-party app in Google Security.

Where else could this error be hidden?
