Thank you for that. I don't think I'd better be messing around in things so far above my head though. I wish Firefox Had not messed that up. It's just annoying to suddenly have to go find your download then move it to where you wanted it to go in the first place. Why fix things are not broken? It isn't the biggest problem ever, But it was sure nice when you could simply direct files to the destination folder of your choice. Did they think this was an improvement?

'DO NOT follow the advice by Dropa to deactivate the' ... improvements_to_download_panel preference. It is an old solution that turns off all download panel improvements. Setting the new browser.download.start_downloads_in_tmp_dir preference to true in about:config is the correct solution for your issue in Firefox 102 and above. Please be careful with all about:config changes. Please read Firefox Advanced Customization and Configuration Options to learn more.
