Since I upgraded to TB 60.4.0 (Mac, French version, IMAP), the sent folder is gone (but still there on my iPhone)
More precisely, there is still a folder called "Elements envoyés" (French for "sent items"), but it is shown in italics and is empty despite being shown as "subscribed" in the folders list. Restarting did not help. De-subscribing and re-subscribing neither. The emails are present through the web interface or on my iPhone... It is very frustrating. Thanks for your help.

Thanks to all who replied. The link from sfhowes helped me to find a parameter in the advanced configuration file, which I changed from true to false, and it solved my problem: mail.imap.auto_unsubscribe_from_noselect_folders; So, it seems OK for the time being.

My guess is the folder is not localized properly.
Right click the account in the folder pane and select subscribe to get it back.
Thanks, but, as I wrote, I have done that without success.
Is this a gmail account? What is the destination for sent messages in Copies & Folders under Account Settings? This article explains folders with italics, and how you might be able to display the subfolders:
Thanks a lot for the article, which at least gives me a starting point. No, it's not a gmail account. It is my main university mail account, and the IMAP server is a Microsoft Outlook 365 one. It was working well before I upgraded to TB 60.4.0
The destination for sent messages is "Eléments envoyés". It is the same "folder" in which my sent emails are visible on my iPhone without any problem...
Did you try unsubscribing from seeing all folders, click on Ok
then exit Thunderbird.
Restart Thunderbird and wait for everything to synch etc. Then select to see folders that need subscribing.
