Multiple Update Tasks Scheduled
Two of my PCs have just two scheduled Firefox maintenance tasks; in one case they are named
Firefox Background Update 3080...9CB Firefox Default Browser Agent 3080...9CB
whereas in the other the first is
Firefox Background Update 3080...9CB S-1-....
On a third machine, there are three Firefox background update tasks, all of which do the same thing, with names like
Firefox Background Update 3080...9CB Firefox Background Update 3080...9CB S-1-... Firefox Background Update 3080...9CB S-1-...
(the S-1-... parts being the SIDs of user accounts that have used Firefox). Surely there should only be one such task, with the shorter name? Can I just kill the other tasks?
Also, I note that all of these tasks run using my normal (non-admin) account, which I believe is the reason why I get UAC prompts from Firefox on occasion. Other applications (and even Windows itself) seem to be able to update themselves in the background without requiring this - and I'm sure that was the case for Firefox too in the past. Is there any way to restore this functionality, please?
