This could be the pop up dialog of the firewall / AV software or another application control software installed in the PC. You may have to choose permanent exception if the pop up has that option, otherwise you may have to go into the settings of the software and change the options for Firefox.

thanks! I thought about that, however it was working fine, until all of a sudden.. it just started doing this. Im afraid that my privacy could be jeopardized by disabling something for Firefox.. and I don't want to "allow forever" all these sites. It makes it nearly impossible to fluently use the internet because I constantly have to allow or deny everything. Here is an attached screenshot of what I'm talking about

Firefox and other browsers would need access to ports 80 and 443 to work. I think you may want to enable port 80 and port 443 (when it asks) and choose Forever or at least Until Quit for a smoother experience. If you believe you downloaded Firefox from a safe site like mozilla.org and your PC is safe (like, there is no other rogue app that can hijack Firefox) then there shouldn't be cause for concern to give it Forever exception on ports 80 and 443.

Thank you very much!! It works much better now and is smooth. Would it be a good idea to maybe get my computer looked at in the event something MAY have hijacked my computer? The reason i ask, is because when this all started, there was 2 updates taking up all my RAM attempting to update. I didn't "allow" it to do it, it just started unknowingly to me. I stopped/cancelled them both and now have this problem. How could I check if I DO have a virus/spyware/etc?

The updates could have been anything. Assuming that the security application is up to date and configured properly and didn't give any warnings may mean that they were legitimate - perhaps the OS updates or the security software itself or maybe the previous version of Firefox. I'm really sorry, but I'm not sure about the security applications for Mac OSes. I think it will be more helpful if you could post it in a Mac forum.
