Try this to create a new shortcut. Remove shortcut

Right click on the 'thunderbird.exe' file and select 'create shortcut'. It may say it cannot create it in that location and suggests the desktop, click on ok.

I found the Mozilla Thunderbird folder in Program Files (x86) and there ARE 8 applications listed in that folder but NONE of them are Thunderbird.exe instead there is: crashreporter maintenanceservice maintnanceservice_installer plugin-container plugin-hang-ui updater wow_helper and WSEnable I'm using Windows 10. I can't even find Thunderbird to tell you what version it is. For the last week a pop up has come up every time I used Thunderbird wanting me to allow it to make changes to my computer. I wish I had not finally given in.
