I use Clear Console to delete my cookies, history, cache among other things with one click. Very useful.
I have the same issue, along with a few other issues that have become more frustrating recently.
I've tried using addons to circumvent these failures for firefox to provide competent functionality, and for the most part, the workaround of navigating to the addons page is more trouble than it's worth, and in some cases the addon itself simply doesn't work.
It would be nice to have core functionality that SHOULD be standard in EVERY browser implemented here.
