I turned on 2-step verification for my Google account yesterday (I have Gmail, using Thunderbird), then when I went to check my incoming mail on T'bird this morning, got an error message that an application-specific password was needed. I went through the steps to get one, pasted it into T'bird's Passwords list in "Preferences," and all was fine. Except that now, even though there's a folder with all my account info, that account isn't listed at all under "Passwords." Hence, I can't log in. Can someone help me figure this out?

If the authentication on the incoming and outgoing is OAuth2, you shouldn't need an app password even if two-step is set on the account, but if it's done after the account is already set up in TB, you might have to reset the OAuth token by removing passwords/tokens from Saved Passwords in Preferences, restart TB, and enter the account password in the OAuth window to allow access.

What happens when you click Get Messages? Does it throw an error, does it ask for a password repeatedly or does it do nothing at all?
