More and more I'm having to go to other browsers like Chrome or Edge to open certain websites as they do not work through the Firefox browser. Why is this and how can i get them to work before i change browsers permanently?

Hi FredMcD,

Thanks for the help things seem to be working at the moment. Creating a new profile wasn't something i wanted to go through so i'm going to leave it here and see how i get on.

Once again thanks for all your help

Steve

Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Hi there,

The two latest websites are an online course i'm doing where once you sign in it just hangs and i don't get anywhere and yet this does work on both Chrome and Edge. Also a website called Trainline in the UK where it allows you to search and buy train tickets. When you do the search it always comes up with tickets unavailable no matter what you search for this happens on both my laptop and main PC via firefox. However this website does work on Edge and Chrome. There have been other websites in the past where i have had to change browsers to get it to work.

Why would i want to create another profile? ......

It's possible that something about the current profile is causing the problem. If a new profile works, we can then Copy parts of the original to the working profile.

You can create a new profile as a quick test to see if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

Are you using any content blocking extensions ?

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, DuckDuckGo PE, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content. You can click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection. You can check the Web Console for relevant-looking messages about blocked content.
