What gives? Latest Firefox once again running away with physical memory, 900MB tied up and only one webpage (Horde webmail) open. Hackerware!

OK, each time I've updated Firefox, it immediately locks up as much memory as it can grab. It apparently is not releasing memory after a website (especially a site like YouTube) has been visited. It is horribly slow to render webpages and most of the time won't connect without many tries (when same website will open in Internet Explorer without problem). Most recent experience is that after visiting two or three websites, closing those and opening only Horde webmail, over 900MB of memory is in use by Firefox.

Fix it or I send it to the scrap heap where it belongs. Free is free but not much worth if it doesn't work. At least be professional if you are going to release this stuff and test it before release!

Hi,

The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected at http://input.mozilla.org/, where a team of people read it and gather data about the most common issues.
