Apparently Taco 3.0 with Abine has disabled all cookies in Firefox 3.6.8 for Mac and left no way to re-enable. I can't get into my gmail or leave comments on friends' sites in Blogger. Instructions found online don't apply--the things they say are in Tools don't appear. Tools window shows only Websearch, Downloads, Addons, Error Console, Page Info. Stop Private Browsing & Clear Recent History are both disabled--I don't see how to turn them back on. I uninstalled the accursed software through Add-ons > Taco (etc. etc.) > uninstall and restarted FF, but this did not help.

From what I can see online, uninstalling Firefox and reloading doesn't help, either. How do I get this filth out of my computer?

TACO does not block cookies by default. If you have used TACO to block some or all cookies and want to re-enable cookies there are two ways:

1. Allow cookies from within TACO. Open TACO, or go to "Tools->TACO->Cookie Settings->Allow for this site" or "Allow for all sites"

2. Allow cookies from within FireFox if you have disabled or uninstalled TACO.

    a. Select "Preferences" from the "Tools" or "FireFox" menu (depends on operating system).
    b. When the Preferences panel opens, select "Privacy"
    c. In the history drop down, select "Use custom settings for history", and cookie controls will appear.
    d. Using the checkboxes, you can choose to "Accept cookies from sites" & "Accept third-party cookies" as desired.
    e. Click the "Exceptions" button and make sure that you do not have cookie exceptions in the list that you do not want.

There are instructions and screenshots for this online here: http://www.getabine.com/support/cookies.php

Since you have uninstalled TACO you want to go right to step #4 "Clear all Exceptions from FireFox". Here is a direct link: http://www.getabine.com/support/cookies.php#4_clear_exceptions

Additional support can be had directly be emailing: support@getabine.com or by going to http://www.getabine.com/support.php
