Was greeted with messages as "Javascript not authorized to connect with Net address....on Port 80, etc. Do you want to allow or block?" I clicked "block". Now I connect w main pages of banks, etc., but can't w https pages. I get '"You aren't allowed".

I couldn't this past Monday reach various URL's (an Internet problem, I assumed) so I shut down FireFox, rebooted computer (PowerPC G4 / Mac OS 10.4.11), and was greeted with messages such as "Javascript is not authorized to connect with 41.444....on Port 80, etc. Do you want to allow or block?"

Not knowing better, I clicked "block" on a number of these messages.

PROBLEM: I can now connect with the main pages of my banks, city utilities dept., etc., but not the secure (https) pages. I get such messages as '"You are not allowed".

I can't even reach Firefox chat or firefox.support from my PowerPC (I'm sending this from my laptop - MacBook Pro OS X - 10.6.3.

Please help me out on this.

Thanks

I am not even a Mac user, but to me that sounds like a security feature, maybe you should look at your firewall software, and its settings and configuration.

Thx, John - Good thought (I'm a non-thinking, non-tech guy). I checked my hard drive, couldn't find firewall settings, but have found Symantech tech support address, will contact them re: resetting Norton Firewall. Best to you.

I currently use Norton Symantech myself, but as it is a Windows system I use, I can not give you any further tips, hopefully other Mac users will respond or you will get the required info from the security people, good luck, John
