Starting with Firefox version 132, macOS users will experience automatic session resume. When Firefox is active at the time of a macOS restart due to a system update or shutdown, the browser will automatically reopen upon system startup, restoring any open tabs and active sessions. This feature is designed to enhance browsing continuity, saving users the step of manually reopening Firefox.

How it works

The session resume feature detects when Firefox is active during a macOS system restart. After such a restart, Firefox automatically launches, returning to the last browsing session.
