I'm trying to create basic Mailing Lists in Thunderbird by selecting multiple contacts and dragging them from an Address Book to a Mailing List, but it seems to only add one contact and sometimes it doesn't add any even though I selected many.

Do you have the latest version, 45.2? There was a bug fixed in that release that may be related to your problem:

Yes, I have the latest version and it is still not working.

First, I suggest running in safe mode (hold Shift when you launch TB) to see if the problem remains, but if it does, it may indicate address book corruption. In that case, create a new test address book with a few test contacts, then create a mailing list in the test book and see if drag and drop of multiple contacts works.

If it works, reply here for instructions on how to repair a corrupt address book.
