To be specific, there's an entry in my cache2 folder that has a virus that's described as "Trojan script/Cloxer.D!cl" in my MSE. How do I block it so it won't ever appear in the cache2 folder again?

The entry in question being the file "1AB38A32B24A33C763297BED6125B2756C224770"

Hi, blocking it. Well it should be gotten rid off and fixed. Figure out how you keep getting it. If you have any cracked software please uninstall and delete it's folders. If you have any BitTorrent Clients uninstall them. If you have anything private on your Desktop move it to a drive. Please use more than 1 scanner as each uses diff tech :

Save your Report and google each before deleting anything as do not want to delete something you need, If need help, and I think you do :

Post in only 1 forum, then wait.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Any form of viruses, trojans and other malware found in the Cache is harmless if left alone while there. Just clear your Cache or let it be overwritten.

See article: Firefox cache file was infected with a virus

The above article may not be maintained anymore but it still applies.

If it still worries you;

Location of the cache/cache2 folder; Windows: *C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\ Mac: ~/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles/ Linux: ~/.cache/mozilla/firefox/

Close Firefox. Open your file browser to the above, and remove the folder.

Note that each Profile you have use this folder so if you delete the cache folder you delete each cache used by each Profiles and not just the one Profile you were using.
